Spring Cleaning

It seems like an appropriate time of the year to clean up my website a bit. I went through all of the GPT Websites I am a member of and decided to clean up the websites that earn pennies and/or I am not a big fan of anymore. I have been with these websites for about a year now and some of them take forever to reach payout and I want to be able to provide information on GPT Websites actually worth putting your time into to earn some cash. Here is the list of GPT Websites that I have removed along with some reasoning. Just because I have removed a website does not mean they are a scam. Please read my reason for removing the website before you make any conclusions.

Adbuddy – This is a GPT Click website. I’ve been a member since June 2007 and have 38 referrals with only $4.00 in my account. To me, it is not worth for me to keep up this website to make almost $5.00 every year. Also, the current minimum payout is $10.00 so I am only half way there. I haven’t heard any complaints about this website so feel free to join if you are still interested.

Adbux – I had a pending payment and they kept changing they’re payment dates and time periods. I no longer support this GPT Websites because of this pending payment issue. I would consider this website a scam and I am not the only one. Visit GPTBoycott to read about other complaints about this GPT Websites.

Bux.to – Pending payment issue. I have had a payment pending since December 2007 and I STILL have not been paid. The terms of service kept changing on the payment scheduling and it is now at 60 business days which I am well over. I email support and they told me to “be patient”. Well I’m sick of being patient so anyone reading this please do NOT JOIN BUX.TO. The sad part about this is I have actually been paid once before without a problem. This issue has just started beginning this year. Many other people are experiencing these problems. Visit GPTBoycott to read more complaints.

GainMail – Just not enough earning opportunities. You get very few emails, and hard to make a decent amount. You can really only earn pennies on this GPT Websites.

RaidTheBank – This was a good GPT Websites. The owner stopped taking care of the website and didn’t pay monthly fees. The website is now suspended and left a lot of people unpaid. Fortunately, I did not have that high of a balance and I was not scammed like many others were. If this website ever becomes active again, I would not suggest not joining this GPT Websites.

WePayMail – Another GPT Websites that is just hard to earn some cash on. Not a lot of earning opportunities.

ZotSpot – This was a great GPT Search Website. Unfortunately, this website closed which was scheduled. As far as I know, people were not scammed. They have redirected traffic to GoodSearch. GoodSearch is a search engine where you can search for a cause. Money is donated to the organization of your choice. Pick your organization and search. Money is donated for your searches. Great website, take a look.

That concludes the list of removed GPT Websites.

GrandCentral

As many of you know, PrivatePhone by NetZero will officially end November 19, 2008.  This is extremely sad news since I have used this free phone service as a phone number to give out when registering for different websites just in case they decided to spam my phone number.  Since the shutdown noticed began in late December 2007, I have been trying to find a decent, reliable replacement.  Just recently, I have stumbled upon a new web-based phone service, GrandCentral.

GrandCentral is a free service that is provided by Google.  You can pick a phone number from your area code or at least an area code close to your location.  After you get a phone number, you can then use this instead of giving out your house number or cell phone number when signing up with different websites.  A great way to keep your privacy.  The only downside is GrandCentral is still in beta.  As of now, you can only join GrandCentral by invitation. This can be from another member who has invitation or by requesting an invitation from the GrandCentral website.  I signed up at GrandCentral’s website and hoped for an invitation somewhere in the near future.  I received an invite in 2 days. I highly recommend signing up and reserving your spot!

I will give you some background information about the actually service from the user end.  When someone called your GrandCentral phone number, they are asked to repeat their name and asked to wait while the subscriber (you) is contacted.  The call is forwarded to a phone number you give GrandCentral.  This could be any phone number, but it must be valid. You have to verify the number with GrandCentral.  You have two options in your account. The phone number forwarded to you phone could either be the actually phone number of the person trying to contact you, or your GrandCentral phone number.  I choose the GrandCentral phone number so if I do get a call, I know it is coming from my account, but feel free to do what you please.

This is what happens on your end on an incoming call. You phone rings (with the caller’s number or your GrandCentral number depending on your settings) and you answer the call (if you want).   An automated voice coming on and you have a few options.  You can accept the call, direct the caller to your GrandCentral voicemail, direct the call to your GrandCentral voicemail and listen to it, or accept and record the call.  The options are self explanatory.  Furthermore, there are some other cool features you can play around with on your GrandCentral account such as greetings, name recording, ringing options, screening, caller id and phone spam.  An awesome service by Google.

PrivatePhone Shutdown

PrivatePhone was a free phone service offered by NetZero. It was great to have a phone number to give out while registering with GPT Websites and other services in case you got unwanted calls. It was a service that I highly recommended. However, I am sad to announce that the PrivatePhone service will be permanently shutdown on February 19, 2008.  I will try and search for a similar, reputable website that offers a similar service.  I have had no luck so far. If anyone has any suggestions, please leave a comment.

WAHWatchDog

WAHWatchDog.org

In my time dealing searching around for different ways to earn cash on the internet, I have found many websites that claim they have some information for succeeding on the internet. I have never purchases any of these eBooks or starter kits because I did not want to lose out in the end. Many of these websites also have money back guarantees, but I was not sure if I should be able to trust them.

WAHWatchDog.org provides ratings for many different money making opportunity websites on the internet. I think it would be a huge help to visit this website first if you are considering buying a product. Only products that receive more than 250 votes in 30 days stay on the list.

WAHWatchdog.org is THE “work at home” product and “money making system” review site. Vote on things you’ve tried, share your feedback and post reviews, get help resolving disputes with merchants, and find out the REAL scoop about products or programs you may
be interested in.” -Taken directly from WAHWatchDog.org homepage

Completing Offers on GPT Websites

How To Increase Earnings and Approval Rates When Completing Offers!

1. Enable Cookies

Make sure cookies are enabled when you are Completing Offers. Cookies allow websites and advertisers to track your activity when Completing Offers. I recommend using Internet Explorer when completing offers instead of other browsers such as Firefox, Netscape and the AOL browser. These browsers sometimes use proxy server and Get Paid To websites do not really like that.

To enable cookies in Internet Explorer go to Tools –> Internet Options –> Privacy Tab. Move the slide to “Accept All Cookies”. I recommend when you are not Completing Offers to slide the tab back to default which is usually “Medium” or your own preference. If you are using a different version of Internet Explorer or you are going to try to Complete Offers in a different browser check out Google’s tutorial on how to enable cookies by clicking here.

2. Clear Cookies

Clearing cookies help you start on a clean slate and make it easier for websites and advertisers to track you while you are Completing Offers. You should clear your cookies before you start an offer. You can clear cookies using your browser if you already know how. I use a program called CCleaner. It is completely free to download and use. It has no spyware and is very simple to use. Click here to visit CCleaner’s website to download and install.

Clearing cookies will probably remove your login information on a Get Paid To website. Close all internet browser windows, clear cookies, open the Get Paid To website, and complete the offer. If you are going to another offer you may want to start the process over. This may seem like a lot of work, but if you are spending 10 minutes completing an offer, you want it to approve so you get paid. For small offers no worth and much and that do not require a lot of time, you may be able to get away with just clearing your cookies once before you start.

3. Firewalls

Sometimes firewalls can interfere with Completing Offers. You may want to hold on when
Completing Offers on campus at college or at work. These networks usually have very strict firewall settings which may prevent you from Completing Offers. If you seem to be having a lot of trouble on your home computer, try disabling your firewall when you are Completing Offers. Be aware your computer is more vulnerable during this time.

4. Check Email After Completing an Offer

When you are completely finished with an offer, make sure to check your email address. Sometimes you must click a confirmation link in your email or visit a website from the sponsor.

5. Provide Accurate Information

If you provide false information to sponsors such as your name or address and the advertiser finds out, they will not credit you for completing the offer. You would not want to waste your time filling out inaccurate information. If you are not comfortable with providing
specific information, don’t Complete Offers that require you to do so. Just skip the offer and move on.

6. Protecting Your Privacy

There are some ways to protect personal information when you Complete Offers. I suggest creating a different email account for Get Paid To websites and you could even make another email account just to Complete Offers. Instead of giving out your cell or home phone number, register at PrivatePhone (Check out the Getting Started page for more information on PrivatePhone and creating new emails)

Some offers require a credit card. Theses offers often are higher in value. You can prevent giving out your personal credit card number by buying a prepaid credit card. These work just
like credit cards, however, you only have a limited supply of funds available. This way, if you come across a website that gives you problems by over charging or does not stop charging your credit card they can only get so much money. You can get Visa gift cards as low as $20.00.

7. Don’t Repeat Offers

There are times where the same offer appears on different Get Paid To Websites. For
the most part, you can only complete an offer once from the advertiser. If an advertiser recognizes the same name, user name, address or email, they may not credit you for the offer again. So if an offer seems too familiar, it may be a better idea to stop and make better use of your time.

8. Don’t Rush!

Advertisers and sponsors have ways of tracking the time you spend completing an offer. If you rush and complete an offer to fast, the advertiser may feel they you are not providing accurate information and not credit your offer. If it is an offer that requires some sort of feedback, the advertiser may feel that you did not put enough effort into your response. You don’t have to go to slow, however, rushing can decrease your approval rates.

Getting Started With Get Paid To Websites

Getting Started

If you are new to this whole concept, I would strongly recommend reading through this section before joining any Get Paid To website.

What are “Get Paid To” websites?

A Get Paid To website is a website where the user or member gets paid to perform a task. These tasks vary depending on the website. You can get paid to Complete Offers, Take Surveys, Write, Read Emails, Click, Play, and Surf. Many of these tasks you perform in your daily routine.

How and why do you get paid by Get Paid To websites? The websites receive money from their sponsors. The sponsors could be members of the website or some other outside source. The
Get Paid To website charges the sponsor and decides to give a percentage back to the member performing a task. The money is used as an incentive to perform the task.

For example, I want to show my website to 100 unique viewers on a Get Paid To website with a 1 level referral program of 100% (See the Get Paid To… page for more information on referrals). It cost me $3.00 to show my website to 100 people. You view my ad and receive 1 cent and because of the referral program, the person who you signed up under also receives 1 cent. After 100 people view my ad, a total of $2.00 is given to the members of the Get Paid To website. The Get Paid To website makes a profit of $1.00 for my purchase. In the end everyone wins. I get the views and hopefully some traffic to my websites and the members receive a cash incentive for completing the task.

Create A PayPal Account

If you do not have a PayPal account, I strongly recommend creating one. A personal PayPal account is free and secure. Many Get Paid To websites payout directly to your PayPal account. Some websites require you to be verified. To verify your PayPal account, you can link your PayPal to a bank account or get approved for a PayPal credit card. I recommend getting
verified by linking your PayPal account to a bank account. It is easy and safe. Visit PayPal for more information.

Make A New Email Account

It is a good idea to make a new email account for all of your Get Paid To websites you become a member of. I use Yahoo! Mail, but feel free to use other email accounts such as Gmail or Hotmail. I use Yahoo! Mail because you get unlimited storage for free. It is a good idea to save your activation emails with your user name and password just incase you forget it sometime in the future.

Making a new email account for your Get Paid To keeps things organized. It keeps your personal email address clutter free and protect you incase you join a website that spams. Don’t panic if you already signed up using your personal email address. Most Get Paid To websites have an option to update and change the email address for your account. If this option is not available, email tech support and they should be able to help you.

Note: Do not forget to add your new email to your PayPal account. All you need to do is sign into your PayPal account, go to your Profile, click Email, then add your new email account. You will receive a conformation email in your new email account. Follow the link to verify the email address and you are set!

Register At PrivatePhone

Make an account and get a personalized phone number at PrivatePhone. PrivatePhone is completely free to use. It is an inbound phone service. You will be able to receive phone calls, but you will not be able to make outgoing phone calls. Give this phone number out when you register for Get Paid To websites and Complete Offers instead of giving out your house or cell phone number. Avoid getting unwanted phone calls to your house or cell phone.

Pace Yourself!

Please do NOT join every Get Paid To website you come across here or anywhere else in such a short period of time. You will make the most amount of money if you focus your time and effort on a small group of Get Paid To websites. There are many to choose from and it is very easy to get overwhelmed. Join only the websites you have an interest in. I would recommend joining 3-5 websites to start. If you do not feel overwhelmed after a week or two, add a couple more
Get Paid To websites to your list. Continue this process of adding Get Paid To websites to your list until you feel you have reached your earning potential. Check out the Hints, Tips, and Guides section for some additional information to help you maximized your earning potential and stay organized.
